Abu Dhabi’s NPCC wins $744-million EPC contract

ABU DHABI, May 25, 2021 – Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has secured a USD 744-million EPCC contract for the Belbazem oil and gas licence from an ADNOC subsidiary.

ADNOC-CNPC 60-40 joint venture Al Yasat awarded the contract, which was announced by the NOC on Tuesday.

The offshore Belbazem block has a targeted production of 45,000 bopd and 27 mcf (around 765,000 cubic metres) of gas per day, with first oil expected in 2023.

The block holds three fields: Belbazem, Umm Al Salsal and Umm Al Dholou.

“NPCC was selected after a rigorous tender process that ensures it will deploy best-in-class technology and expertise to execute this strategic project, with a substantial part of the award value flowing back into the UAE’s economy,” Yaser Almazrouei, ADNOC’s upstream executive director, said on Tuesday.
