Multinational oil and gas company Statoil awarded oil services company Aibel a FEED study contract for the Oseberg Future Development Brownfield Topside project.

Aibel awarded Oseberg FEED contract

OSLO, May 27, 2015 – Multinational oil and gas company Statoil awarded oil services company Aibel a FEED study contract for the Oseberg Future Development Brownfield Topside project. This agreement would give the company the opportunity to sign the subsequent EPCI contract.

 

The Oseburg project involves linking an unmanned wellhead platform to the Oseberg B platform, which is located about 130 kilometres northwest of Bergen. The Oseberg A platform will also be connected to the wellhead platform and provide it with power and chemical injection. The project also looks to renovate the Oseberg Field Centre.

“Previous modification contracts for Oseberg have given us valuable experience that will be extremely useful in this project. By delivering a good and thorough study, we will prove that we are the best partner for the implementation of the EPCI project as well,” said, Jan Stale Skar, Aibel’s EVP for Modifications.

Aibel will being the FEED study immediately until October. The expected EPCI contract will begin in 2016 until the end of 2017.
