Aker BP awards drilling works in Norway

OSLO, March 17, 2022 – Saipem has signed a USD 325-million contract with Norwegian E&P company Aker BP for use of its rig on a drilling campaign offshore Norway, the Italian oilfield services company announced today.
The semi-submersible Scarabeo 8 offshore rig will be provided on a three-year contract with options to extend works for an additional two years.
Operations are expected to begin at the end of 2022.
Location of the works was not disclosed.
Saipem last worked with Aker BP in 2018.
