Aker Energy ready to work in Ghana

ACCRA, August 29, 2018 – Aker Energy has completed the agreements to begin operating in Ghana, local media reported Tuesday.

 

“Aker Solutions has its right foot in the country and we are looking forward to the company starting its exploration and development phase and come in at the earliest time possible,” Deputy Energy Minister Joseph Cudjoe said.

Aker Energy plans to begin oil exploration in Ghana at the end of 2021, Ghana Web reported.

In February 2018, Aker Energy, a 50-50 JV between Aker Group and TRG, agreed to buy Hess Corporation’s Ghana assets for USD 100 million. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, covers a 50% stake in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block.
