Amec Foster Wheeler bags Total contract

France

LONDON, August 7, 2017 – Amec Foster Wheeler said on Monday that Total had awarded it a FEED contract to upgrade the Donges refinery in Western France.

“This is a strategically important project for Total designed to increase the performance of the Donges refinery, which Amec Foster Wheeler knows well from past successful projects,” Marco Moresco, Amec Foster Wheeler’s president for downstream capital projects, said in a statement.

The contract, awarded by Total subsidiary Total Raffinage France, aims to add desulphurisation capacity to the plant to allow it to meet EU specifications for sulphur levels in the fuels it produces. The upgrade will include a new vacuum gas oil hydrotreater unit, a sour water stripping unit and an innovative digital information management system that would allow customers, operators and designers to access key data in real time.

The value of the contract, which is expected to complete in Q4, was not disclosed.
