
Bechtel bags EPC works on Corpus Christi project

CORPUS CHRISTI, March 8, 2022 – Bechtel has signed a lump-sum turnkey EPC contract with LNG provider Cheniere Energy for the third phase of its Corpus Christi development in Texas, the American engineering company announced on Monday.
The phase involves installation of seven midscale LNG trains, each with a liquefaction capacity of 1.49 million tonnes per year, with a total production capacity of more than 10 million tonnes per year.
The expansion project is expected to begin commercial production of LNG in 2025.
The Corpus Christi facility currently has liquefaction capacity of around 15 million tonnes per year from three trains. The project first came on line in 2019.
Further developments at the site are being considered.
Cost of the contract was not disclosed.
