BPTT re-ups rigs

PORT OF SPAIN, October 19, 2017 – On Thursday, in preparation for a much-anticipated drilling campaign, BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) entered into a new contract with Rowan Companies for use of the Rowan EXL II jack-up rig.

The rig will work on a five-well development slated to begin in Q1 2018.

BPTT’s most recent contract for Rowan EXL II was completed in October 2017. Day rates associated with the new contract have not been released.

In addition to the new agreement, BPTT has also extended its contract with Rowan Companies’ Joe Douglas rig for a four-well development programme.

The company has recently had an uptick in drilling activity. In Q1 2017, BPTT began a three-well drilling programme at the Kapok facility, later adding a fourth well. In Q2 2017, the super-major completed a four-well campaign at Amherstia and in September, the company began drilling the first of three wells at Serrette.
