The first LNG cargo from the Sabine Pass facility has been delayed by at least a month, Texas-based Cheniere Energy stated in a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Thursday.

China’s ENN signs LNG deal with Cheniere Energy

BEIJING, October 12, 2021 – ENN Natural Gas Company has signed a 13-year sales and purchase agreement with Cheniere Energy for the supply of LNG, the Chinese gas retailer announced on Monday.

 

Under the contract, Cheniere Energy will supply 900,000 tonnes of LNG per year on a free-on-board basis, with first cargo expected in July 2022.

“China is making great efforts to achieve the goal of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, boosting the reform of natural gas market and accelerating the structural adjustment of energy consumption,” said Wang Yusuo, chairman of the board for ENN Natural Gas.

“As one of the world’s leading LNG supplier, Cheniere has great advantages on resource production and supply capacity, which is highly compatible with the fast-growing natural gas market in China.”
