TechnipFMC signs charter contract in Brazil
BRASILIA, October 12, 2021 – TechnipFMC has been awarded a three-year charter and services contract by Petrobras for the pipelay support vessel Coral do Atlântico, the technology provider announced on Monday.
The vessel is expected to begin operations in Q2 2022 in water depths of up to 3,000 metres.
“Coral do Atlântico is the third of our pipelay support vessels to be contracted via a long-term charter by Petrobras this year, indicating rising demand in the Brazilian market for flexibles. Coral do Atlântico’s versatility and ability to work in deep or shallow water is a large part of the vessel’s appeal,” said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea operations at TechnipFMC.
While the exact cost of the works was not disclosed, TechnipFMC labelled the contract as substantial, meaning it is between USD 250 million and USD 500 million.
