Chubut gets $1.6-bln commitment

BUENOS AIRES, March 21, 2018 – Oil and gas companies have committed to investing USD 1.6 billion in Argentina’s Chubut province, Governor Mariano Arcioni told reporters on Tuesday.

The governor met with oil and gas companies and unions to discuss key issues such as support for SMEs, co-operation between different industry stakeholders and increasing hydrocarbons production.

“In the case of oil companies operating in our province, the best way they can express their support is through an increase in production volumes, which we have called on them to do,” Governor Arcioni said. “That is why today we can say that the companies’ announcement of investment commitments worth more than USD 1.6 billion represents very good news for our province.”
