CNH publishes final bidders for E&P rounds
MEXICO CITY, July 5, 2017 – Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) released on Tuesday a final list of companies that will participate in its upcoming Round 2.2 and Round 2.3 tenders.
According to the commission, nine bidders will participate in the second auction, four of which will bid as individuals. There will be 19 bidders in the third auction, and 11 companies will offer their bids individually.
Colombian NOC Ecopetrol, which walked away with several blocks in the last tender, will once again join in. Other companies that will take part include Grupo R, PetroBal, Tonalli Energía, Shandong Kerui Oilfield Service Group, Química Apollo and more.
The twin tenders did not attract any super-majors, which featured heavily in rounds 1.4 and 2.1. Instead, the mix of interested companies is primarily made up of small local players and regionally-focused firms.
Phases two and three of Round 2 will offer 10 and 14 onshore blocks, respectively. Both tenders are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 12.
