BEIJING, December 1, 2017 – China National Petroleum Corporation has discovered an oilfield in western China, local and international media reported on Friday.

 

The discovery, which is estimated to contain about 3.8 billion barrels of crude, is located in the Xinjiang region, Reuters reported.

The report, sourced to subsidiary PetroChina officials speaking to state news agency Xinhua, added that PetroChina had boosted its output capacity in fields nearby by 27,000 bopd.
