Diamond Offshore seals $350-million Gulf of Mexico deal
HOUSTON, May 15, 2024 – Diamond Offshore has secured a USD 350-million extension for an ultra-deepwater drillship deployed for Anadarko Petroleum in the US Gulf of Mexico, the US drilling player announced on Wednesday.
The Ocean BlackHawk drillship will be deployed for an additional two years under the extension, with the period beginning in November 2024.
“This extension is a testament to the safe performance of our crews and provides further visibility to our earnings and cashflow streams for 2025 and 2026,” Diamond Offshore president and CEO Bernie Wolford, Jr. said.
“Combined with our previous awards, this brings our total contract backlog to approximately USD 2.1 billion.”
Diamond Offshore provides offshore drilling services to the global energy industry via its fleet of 12 offshore drilling rigs, consisting of eight semi-submersibles and four dynamically positioned drillships.
