EOG Resources to fast-track Beryl oil discovery off Trinidad

PORT OF SPAIN, May 8, 2025 – EOG Resources has confirmed an oil discovery at the Beryl well in the TSP Deep Area off Trinidad’s east coast and is moving the project towards a final investment decision with bpTT, the company said on Tuesday.

The Beryl well, situated in around 52 metres of water, encountered more than 38 metres of high-quality oil-bearing net pay. EOG Resources is collaborating with bp as a 50:50 joint venture partner on the development of the nearby Mento and Coconut gasfields, with Mento set to come on stream later this year and Coconut in 2027. EOG is the operator for both developments.
