EPCI contract signed for Qatar’s Al Shaheen expansion

PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation has signed an EPCI contract for works on Qatar’s largest oilfield, the company said on Friday.

The company said the contract included detailed design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, load-out, sea-fastening, transportation and installation, hook-up and offshore commissioning of the offshore facilities. Onshore works will be done at PTSC Mechanical & Construction’s yard in Vung Tau City, Vietnam.

The contract is part of the third phase of the Gallaf project run by NOC Qatar Petroleum and TotalEnergies, which looks to maintain production on the Al Shaheen field. The field accounts for almost half of the country’s oil production.

The contract value and timeframe were not specified.
