Ex Nigeria oil minister in crosshairs

ABUJA, April 6, 2017 – The Federal High Court of Nigeria on Wednesday formally charged the first minister hailing from President Goodluck Jonatan’s cabinet, former Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke.

 

She is charged with money-laundering ahead of the March 2015 elections, with the prosecuting alleging she paid bribes to the tune of USD 1.4 million. Alison-Madueke served until May 2015.

The former minister, who is believed to be in London, has yet to comment on the charges.
