FEED team selected for South Korean wind project

South Korea

SEOUL, August 17, 2022 – Technip Energies and its partners have signed a contract with promoters TotalEnergies and offshore wind company Corio Generation to provide FEED works in South Korea for the world’s largest proposed floating wind project, the French engineering and technology company announced today.

The consortium consists of Technip Energies, subsea engineering company Subsea 7 and local shipbuilding and offshore industry entity Samkang M&T Co.

Works include engineering of the floater, mooring and inter-array cable in collaboration with a wind turbine supplier.

The floating foundation will include Technip Energy’s IN015 in-house floater technology that consists of a three-column semi-submersible floater.

The 504-MW Ulsan Gray Whale 3 offshore windfarm will be located 60-70 kilometres from Onsen Port in Ulsan on the east coast of South Korea.

The development is one of three proposed by TotalEnergies and Corio Generation that will install 1.5 GW of energy off the coast of Ulsan.

In April 2022, Technip Energies was chosen by Equinor to provide FEED works for the Firefly offshore floating wind project near Ulsan, South Korea.
