TABASCO, January 6, 2022 – Eni has received an FPSO at its offshore Area 1 project in Mexico, and now plans to ramp up production in the early part of 2022.

The MIAMTE FPSO has a processing capacity of 90,000 bopd is is undergoing hookup and commissioning, the company revealed in a press release earlier this week.

In 2019, Eni became Mexico’s first private-sector producer of offshore oil via the Area 1 development, located off the coast of the state of Tabasco.

The MIAMTE was constructed in three countries, with five of its modules built in Mexico. The vessel sailed on October 27 after final integration in Singapore.
