French firm wins India downstream contract

KOCHI, September 10, 2014 – French project management, engineering and construction company Technip was last week awarded a project management and EPC contract by American Air Products for a new industrial complex at the Kochi Refinery in the state of Kerala.

The project is part of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s plans to increase the refinery’s capacity from 190,000 barrels per day to 310,000 barrels per day and to produce clean fuel that complies with Euro IV and V standards.

Air Products’ industrial gas complex is being built under a Build-Own-Operate basis and aims at meeting the gas requirements of BPC’s expansion project, especially for hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen.
