Ghana president to launch oil and gas bid round
ACCRA, October 15, 2018 – Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to launch the country’s first oil and gas licensing round on Monday, local media reported over the weekend.
Ghana announced in April plans to conduct its first exploration licensing round in Q4. Three blocks are expected to be auctioned in an open competitive tender, and two are to be allocated through direct negotiations.
The country, which currently produces about 200,000 bopd, is expected to launch a second round for three additional blocks next year.
