Hyundai wins Kuwait gas tanker deal

KUWAIT CITY, January 25, 2018 – Hyundai Heavy Industries and Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) have signed a USD 213-million deal under which the South Korean company will construct three liquefied gas tankers for the Kuwaiti shipping firm.

 

The contract will expand KOTC’s fleet to 31, Kuwait News Agency reported on Wednesday. The three vessels are slated to be completed by the end of 2019.

KOTC told the news agency that the cost of each of the vessels is around USD 71 million. The company said similar fleet expansion deals are in the works.
