IEASA starts power asset sale
BUENOS AIRES, May 15, 2018 – State-owned Integración Energética Argentina (IEASA) has begun the process of selling two thermoelectric power plants, international media reported on Monday.
The company has opened a public consultation for the tender of the 560-MW Ensenada de Barragán plant in the Buenos Aires province and the 280-MW Brigadier López facility in the province of Santa Fe.
The asset buyer will be obligated to see through two expansion projects at the plants. Ensenada de Barragán will undergo a closed-cycle expansion, raising its capacity to 840 MW, while Brigadier López will see its capacity increased to 420 MW through a similar project.
IEASA was established in March 2018 when state-owned Energía Argentina merged with Emprendimientos Binacionales in a deal that required the company to sell off non-strategic assets, including several power plants.
