India’s DSF round open for bids

HOUSTON, July 15, 2016 – India’s so-called discovered small field (DSF) bidding round, which opened for bids in May, has already attracted the majors’ attention, Indian Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said late on Thursday.

Speaking at a roadshow in Houston, where the minister is vying for US interest in the DSF round, Pradhan said his government would welcome bids from BG Group and BP on the round’s 67 fields under 46 contract areas. The minister also said talks were underway with Total on the DSF round, which has the potential to unlock 625 million boe.

Companies can make their bids through October, with the first awards expected two months later.
