KazTransGas to build new gas pipeline

Kazakhstan

ASTANA, November 24, 2014 – KazTransGas will invest $127 million in the construction of a branch pipeline connected to the Beyneu-Bozoi-Shymkent conduit to gasify the southern city of Baikonur, local media reported on Monday. Overall, 1,439 kilometres of gas pipelines and 81 gas distribution points will be constructed for the mega gasification project of the Kyzylorda region.

In June 2014, the government approved the $3.6-billion General Gasification Scheme to ensure a reliable gas supply to citizens residing in remote areas across the country, especially the northern, central and eastern regions. Dozens of new pipelines will be constructed in the Central Asian country over the next 15 years.
