Korea’s Daelim reports Iran award

Iran

SEOUL, December 29, 2016 – South Korean contractor Daelim Industrial on Thursday said it had been awarded a construction contract for work on Iran’s Isfahan refinery.

In comments to Korean media, a Daelim company official said the company had won a USD 1.9-billion contract for rehabilitation and expansion work. “The latest order is the outcome of being recognized as a credible company by Iran’s state-run firms and private companies based on [Daelim’s] long experience in Iran,” the official was quoted as saying. Daelim first began working in Iran in 1975 and, according to reports, has carried out 26 projects to date.

While the Isfahan refinery has a capacity of 375,000 bpd, it processes close to 308,000 bpd. The facility is owned by National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company through Esfahan Oil Refining Company.
