Kuwait’s KOC selects Baker Hughes for artificial lift
HOUSTON, December 18, 2025 – Baker Hughes has secured a major contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to deliver artificial lift systems and services in Kuwait’s oil and gasfields, Baker Hughes announced on Wednesday.
Under the multi-year deal, Baker Hughes will supply electrical submersible pumps, along with installation, monitoring, and maintenance services. Proprietary production management and automation systems will be integrated into the equipment to maximise yields.
Baker Hughes did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. The engagement follows a KOC engagement for perforation and wireline technology and advanced logging services secured by Baker Hughes in Q3 2025.
“Technology is unlocking new value from established fields around the world, and Baker Hughes and KOC have been at the forefront of these advancements. Our industry-leading artificial lift systems have proven themselves in Kuwait’s oilfields for nearly two decades and established a reputation for reliability and efficiency,” said Amerino Gatti, executive vice-president of Oilfield Services & Equipment at Baker Hughes.
In Kuwait, Baker Hughes operates a 25,000-square-metre workshop for testing artificial lift systems, and the company has signed an MoU with KOC to develop a research centre at the Ahmadi Innovation Valley, which was inaugurated this year.
