McDermott inks RasGas contract offshore Qatar

DOHA, November 10, 2015 – McDermott has signed a brownfield engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract for Qatari LNG producer RasGas, the US contractor announced Tuesday in a company statement.

The contract stipulates that McDermott provides EPCI works for RasGas’ flow assurance and looping project located offshore Qatar. The company will supply RasGas with about 120 kilometres of pipelines and topside modifications. The work for the contract is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2017.

In early October, McDermott snatched an EPCI contract from state-owned Qatar Petroleum for four wellhead jackets offshore Doha. McDermott also has two ongoing works with RasGas including an engineering service agreement and front-end engineering design projects.

RasGas is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil.
