MMA clinches Woodside contract

SYDNEY, November 10, 2015 – MMA Offshore has clinched a $35.3-million integrated fleet contract to provide three vessels for oil and gas independent Woodside’s assets located in northwest Australia, the local marine services supplier announced Tuesday in a company statement.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will supply two offtake support vessels and one high-specification platform supply vessel. The ships will be the Mermaid Sound, the Mermaid Strait and the Mermaid Leeuwin.

The contract will cover Woodside’s Northwest Shelf, the country’s largest oil and gas development, as well as Pluto production assets, which contain about 142 bcm (5 tcf) of dry gas.

If all the contract options are exercised, the value might increase to $77.5 million.
