Mexico's state oil company Pemex awarded engineering and construction company McDermott International an offshore engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the Ayatsil-C replacement jack and its related deck installation works.

McDermott lands fourth Pemex contract

HOUSTON, June 5, 2015 – Mexico’s state oil company Pemex awarded engineering and construction company McDermott International an offshore engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the Ayatsil-C replacement jack and related installation works.

The company will use its in-house experts, the Altamira yard located in Mexico, the Intermac 600 transportation the Derrick Barge 50 vessel to complete the works stipulated by the contract.McDermott has not yet released the value of the contract. The completion date of the contract has been set for the last quarter of 2016.

 

This latest arrangement marks McDermott’s fourth contract working in the Ayatsil and  “follows the successful delivery of the Ayatsil-B drilling platform in 2014 and installation of the Ayatsil-A offshore jacket, deck and piles earlier this year,” according to Scott Munro, the company’s vice-president for the Americas, Europe and Africa.

The Ayatsil field, situated in Mexico’s Bay of Campeche, is Pemex’s largest discovery. The state-owned company intends to develop four platforms with 43 wells in the project.
