Mexico proposes 10th E&P tender

MEXICO CITY, January 24, 2018 – Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy (SENER) has submitted a plan to the National Hydrocarbons Commission for the Round 3.2 E&P auction, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

The secretariat has put forward 37 conventional onshore blocks, which will be auctioned under the licence agreement model. The areas expected to be offered contain oil and non-associated gas, and are suitable for exploration activities.

“The bidding rules will seek to ensure that this process is carried out under the principles of transparency, maximum publicity, equality, competitiveness and simplicity,” SENER said in a statement.

Round 3.2 will be the 10th E&P tender under SENER’s Five-Year Exploration and Production Plan 2015-2019 and the third to take place in 2018. No date has been set yet for the auction.
