Nigeria to found oil university in Delta

ABUJA, October 18, 2017 – President Muhammadu Buhari signed a bill to establish the University of Petroleum Resources in Delta state Tuesday.
The institution will specialise in training for oil workers and research in petroleum technologies.
“This administration is fully committed to supporting the Niger Delta in its endeavours to achieve socio-economic development,” President Buhari said.
The step is part of efforts to pacify the Niger Delta region. In August, modular refineries and several other actions were pledged by the then acting president after meeting with the Pan Niger Delta Forum.
