NNPC to explore Gongola Basin

LAGOS, May 14, 2018 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) will begin drilling exploratory wells in the Gongola Basin, group managing director Maikanti Baru said Friday. 

“Soon, we shall start drilling exploratory wells in the Gongola Basin commencing with appraisal of the Kolmani River-1 discovery field,” Vanguard quoted Baru as saying.

In March 2018, the NNPC announced that four wells were planned for the year on the Gongola Basin to test prospects identified around Kolmani River-1, Nasara-1 and Kuzari-1.
