Novatek discovers new gasfield in Siberia

MOSCOW, November 20, 2018 – Novatek has discovered a gasfield in the Yamal-Nenets region in northern Russia, the company announced on Monday.
Exploration well PO-1 at the Nyakhartinskoye field flowed 300,000 cubic metres (10.6 mcf) of gas. More detailed reserve estimates are expected in 2019, the release added.
“The Nyakhartinskoye field is in close proximity to the company’s Yurkharovskoye field and represents a very important reserve discovery maintaining Novatek’s production in the area of the Unified Gas Supply system,” the company said.
