Pemex GoM finds to boost future production

MEXICO CITY, October 10, 2018 – Mexican NOC Pemex has made two new discoveries through the drilling of the Manik-101A and Mulach-1 wells in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM), the company said in a press release on Tuesday.

The finds, located in the shallow-water Southeastern Basins, are expected to significantly add to Pemex’s future output when combined with four other nearby discoveries made in recent years – Kinbe, Koban Xikin and Esah.

The Kinbe and Koban fields are both undergoing delimitation, while the Xikin and Esah fields are currently being moved into the production phase, the statement said.

The six fields together hold an estimated 180 million boe of 3P reserves. Pemex expects that these resources will translate into additional future production of up to 210,000 bopd and 9.91 mcm (350 mcf) of gas per day.
