Pengerang Phase 1C on track for year-end completion

The executive chairman of Malaysian oil and gas services company Dialog Group, Tan Sri Ngau Boon Keat, has told TOGY that Phase 1B of the company’s deepwater terminal in Pengerang, which adds 25 tanks, had been commissioned, with Phase 1C on track for completion by year-end. “Once fully completed, 1.3 million cubic metres of storage will be available at the terminal,” Tan Sri Ngau said. Phase one of the $1.54-billion terminal, which includes 25 storage tanks with a capacity of 432,000 cubic metres came on stream in March.

“The further industrial development of Johor, including Petronas’ RAPID project, which reached a final investment decision in the first half of 2014, will be a major catalyst for further investment in Malaysia’s oil and gas industry,” he noted. “Each of these projects is a key entry point project for the country’s economic transformation to a high-income nation,” Tan Sri Ngau added.

The chairman also confirmed that 87 ships had called at the company’s deepwater terminal in Pengerang following the first ship’s arrival on April 12, 2014.
