Petrobras hires two drillships for Brazil’s Búzios field

Seadrill has been awarded two contracts by state-run Petrobras for its West Carina and West Tellus drillships on the offshore Búzios pre-salt field in Brazil, the offshore drilling contractor announced on Friday.

The three-year contracts are together worth around USD 549 million including mobilisation revenue and additional services.

Works are expected to begin in September 2022.

“Brazil is a strategically important market for the offshore sector, and I am pleased that Seadrill will continue to play an increasingly significant role in the coming years,” said Stuart Jackson, CEO for Seadrill.
