Petrobras hires two drillships for Brazil’s Búzios field
BRASILIA, November 26, 2021 – Seadrill has been awarded two contracts by state-run Petrobras for its West Carina and West Tellus drillships on the offshore Búzios pre-salt field in Brazil, the offshore drilling contractor announced on Friday.
The three-year contracts are together worth around USD 549 million including mobilisation revenue and additional services.
Works are expected to begin in September 2022.
“Brazil is a strategically important market for the offshore sector, and I am pleased that Seadrill will continue to play an increasingly significant role in the coming years,” said Stuart Jackson, CEO for Seadrill.
