Petrofac bags Iraq EPC contract
ST HELIER, August 13, 2018 – Iraqi NOC Basra Oil Company has awarded Petrofac an EPC contract worth USD 370 million, the engineering major announced on Monday.
Over the course of 34 months, Petrofac is to build two oil processing trains at the Majnoon oilfield, increasing its capacity to about 435,000 bopd. In June, Basra Oil took over operations at Majnoon, Iraq’s third-largest oilfield, after super-major Shell exited it.
“We have developed a significant track record in Iraq with enhanced local delivery, successfully providing services both onshore and offshore since 2010,” said Elie Lahoud, Petrofac’s regional managing director for engineering and construction.
“This important contract win demonstrates Petrofac’s long-lasting client relationships and our ongoing commitment to extending our operations in this key market that complements our broad service capabilities, international experience and expertise.”
