Petronas hires UMW rig

KUALA LUMPUR, January 5, 2017 – UMW Offshore Drilling received a conditional letter of award for use of its Naga-7 jackup rig from Petronas Carigali.
 
The contract is for a total of 18 months, local media wrote on Wednesday. Financials were not disclosed.
 
The rig is an independent-leg cantilever jack-up rig that is able to drill to a depth of 9,140 metres and has a rated operating water depth of 114 metres.
 
UMW Offshore Drilling is a fully owned entity of UMW Malaysian Ventures, which is entirely owned by UMW Oil and Gas.
