Philippines

MANILA, April 4, 2023 – Vitol Group is set to deliver the Philippines’ first-ever LNG shipment, the Geneva-based commodities trading entity announced on Monday.

The cargo was supplied by Emirati NOC ADNOC and recently loaded for transport in Das Island, UAE.

It is due to arrive mid-April 2023 in the Philippines at the first of seven import terminals to be commissioned under the government’s USD 67-million LNG import terminal project announced in January 2023.

The LNG will be used to power San Miguel Global’s 1,200-MW Ilijan power plant, which is located in the Batangas province around 142 kilometres south of Manila.
