QP made the announcement on Sunday, saying the deal would take affect when Vietnam’s Long Son Island petrochemicals complex is brought on line, which is expected in 2022.
The deal was signed between Long Son Petrochemicals Company and Qatar Petroleum for the Sale of Petroleum Products Company.
The Long Son petrochemicals facility is Vietnam’s inaugural greenfield petrochemicals complex and is located 100 kilometres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
“This agreement has a significant importance as it is the first time that Qatar is selling LPG and naphtha on long-term basis as well as the first time that we are selling directly to Vietnam,” president and CEO of QP Saad Sherida Al Kaabi said.
