Qatar to order 60 LNG carriers

SEOUL, January 29, 2019 – Qatar plans to order 60 new LNG carriers, international media reported on Monday.
In a statement cited by Reuters, the South Korean presidential office said Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al Kaabi had described the plans during a bilateral summit in Seoul.
The agency reported that Minister Al Kaabi, who is also president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, said he expected co-operation from South Korean shipbuilders for the expansion. Further details on the plan were not revealed.
