QatarEnergy enhances energy co-operation with Namibia

DOHA, April 20, 2023 – QatarEnergy has signed an MoU with Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy for stronger co-operation in the energy sector, the Qatari NOC announced on Sunday.
Under the agreement, the partners will collaborate on knowledge sharing, workforce development and investments in Namibia’s energy industry.
“We are pleased to further enhance our cooperation with the government of Namibia and build on our recent successes,” said Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Qatar’s minister of state for energy affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy.
QatarEnergy encountered its third oil discovery at Namibia’s Orange Basin in March 2023.
The company holds interest in the three following exploration blocks in the country: PEL-39 (45%), PEL-56 (30%) and PEL-91 (28.33%).
