Real strikes gas in Australia

SYDNEY, May 22, 2018 – The Tamarama-3 well in Queensland licence ATP 927P has encountered 58.9 metres of net gas pay, operator Real Energy announced on Tuesday.

The news came weeks after the company announced the discovery of about 35 metres of net gas deposits in the nearby Tamarama-2 well on May 3.

“This is an excellent result which is consistent with our geological model and aligns with the pre-drilling expectations,” Scott Brown, Real’s managing director said in a statement.

“The net pay encountered in both Tamarama-2 and now Tamarama-3 is very attractive for Real Energy and again reinforces our view that the Windorah gasfield holds considerable unlocked value that we are only just starting to tap.”
