The newly named Salamanca FPU will have a production capacity of 60,000 bopd and 1.13 mcm (40 mcf) per day of gas.
All modifications and topsides are being financed by Boston-based equity firm ArcLight Capital Partners.
Regulatory approvals for the project have been approved.
The asset will be located in depths of around 1,950 metres on the KC 689 block and connect to the Leon discovery on KC 642, KC 643, KC 686 and KC 697 blocks and the Castile discovery on the KC 736 block.
Initial development of both plays on the undersea Keathley Canyon will include three subsea wells tied back to the Salamanca FPU, one for the Leon field and the others for the Castile field.
Production is expected to begin in mid-2025.
The project is being operated by LLOG Exploration Company in partnership with Repsol and Beacon Offshore Energy.
