Sahara Gas delivers first LPG

LAGOS, July 5, 2018 – The Sahara Gas vessel has completed its first 7,000-tonne LPG delivery in Nigeria, local media reported Wednesday.

The LPG was transported from the NLNG Bonny Island Plant to Lagos, the first such delivery by a wholly locally-owned vessel.

The new-build Sahara Gas and Africa Gas vessels were acquired by West Africa Gas in January 2017, Daily Trust reported. West Africa Gas is a JV between Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) subsidiary NNPC LNG and Ocean Bed Trading, the trading arm of Sahara Energy.

“This is a historic achievement for the NNPC and Sahara Group that showcases a truly successful partnership by all global standards. The quest is to achieve uninterrupted supply of the commodity and address infrastructural limitations as we continue to implement our zero tolerance policy against adulterated products and their promoters across the nation,” NNPC group managing director Maikanti Baru said.
