Schlumberger has emphasised the value it places on localisation. “Relying on local capabilities has become the way to do business going forward,” Amit Singh, the company’s Qatar managing director, told The Energy Year in an interview for the forthcoming Qatar edition of the Crisis and Resilience in the Covid-19 Era series.

“If a company wants to bring reliability and cost efficiency to the supply chain, it is important to rely on local resources and use local engineering and manufacturing as much as possible.”
