SDX in new Egypt gas find

LONDON, June 18, 2018 – SDX Energy has struck about 27 metres of net gas pay in the SD-4X well in the South Disouq licence in Egypt, the company announced on Monday.

SDX, which has enjoyed a string of recent successes in Egypt and Morocco, also said the LMS-1 well in the Lalla Mimouna Nord concession in Morocco had “flowed at sub-commercial rates.” The company believes the poor test result is “temporary” and was caused by “damage created by the fluids used to control the elevated pressures encountered in the well whilst drilling,” SDX added in a statement.

“Overall we are very pleased with our recent drilling activity,” said CEO Paul Welch. “In Morocco we had seven successful results from our nine well program and in Egypt we have had three successes out of the four wells drilled to date with one well to go.”
