Seismic data released for India’s offshore bid round

NEW DELHI, December 15, 2022 – Searcher Seismic has released new 2D seismic data following the launch of India’s latest offshore oil and gas bid round, the Australian geoscience entity announced on Wednesday.
The East Coast India Rectified and Reprocessed 2D Dataset covers 9 shallow and deepwater blocks covering an area of 28,000 kilometres in the Krishna Godavari, Mahanadi and Bengal Basins.
In October, India put 26 oil and gas blocks spread over nine basins up for auction.
Of the 223,000 square kilometres on offer, 15 are ultra-deepwater, eight are shallow water and three are onshore plays.
