Sempra’s IEnova Energy bags pipeline contract

MEXICO CITY, November 25, 2014 – The Mexico Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) on Monday awarded Mexican energy infrastructure company IEnova Energy the contract to build a 205-kilometre, 42-inch pipeline from Ojinaga to El Encino in the state of Chihuahua.

 

According to IEnova’s parent company, Sempra Energy, the estimated value of the project is placed at $300 million and includes the construction and operation of the transmission line for a period of 25 years. The pipeline, slated to carry 39.6 mcm (1.4 bcf) of natural gas per day, is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2017.
